i don't think i'd ever want to live in a suburb, but clearly, a lot of people have decided that it's right for them
hard to say that for certain, though, given the state of the american economy; i think that a lot of condensing into suburbs happens because central banking and taxation has basically ensured that people can live in debt and engage in jobs that don't actually produce anything of objective value (bureau jobs, jobs that deal with overcoming the challenges of synthetic obstacles such as government regulation), which has led to there being privileged people who can drift through life (however miserably, precariously, and unfulfilling that life may be) living an utter lie on the backs of the productive individuals of their own nation, while they cast their votes for the voluntary commerce that creates the very industry that keeps them alive to be regulated and taxed to oblivion.
honestly, I'd love to live amongst people who build freely on their own land with no concern for getting fucking taxed for creating things of objective value on it, make new firearms, vehicles, aircraft, and machinery, freely synthesize experimental medicines and other chemicals, and generally do what they want in a free market, anarcho-capitalist economy setting.
all in an enclave. an ancap ethnostate, probably mostly run on crypto.
