retard here

could somebody tell me why exactly bonds from the same country have different interest rates?
why would you ever hold the one with a lower interest rate?
you can trade bonds close to maturation on the open market, so [pic related] instead of buying a 2 year bond at 0.1% why wouldn't you buy a 10 year bond at 3% and sell it when it has 8 years left until maturity?

Been saying this for a while. The T note has been trending towards a bear market for a while now and the T note is a pretty reliable canary in the coal mine. Remember boys when the T note goes up that means the big money boys would rather make fuck all than risk it in the short term in the markets.
