As >>56352997 said, Chainlink's main goal was always to connect blockchains to each other. Linking the chains, in the name. However, They also found that you could do cool stuff over the years in the oracle network that's necessary but basically impossible to do on a blockchain.

The first instance was generating random numbers which they discussed back in 2018 and came to realize was probably one of the most, if not the most secure way to generate random numbers. Then later down the road they made special API calls in the form of Proof of Reserves, and then basically robbed Andre Cronje's project's Keepers (now automation) to automate contract calls.

Because Chainlink's Oracle Network doesn't have to broadcast and log every transaction to every oracle node in the network, they are far more scalable and flexible in what they can accomplish. And so new ideas for features keep popping up and are added to the functionality and as a result, Oracle networks are completely redefined in what they can do and accomplish.

We went from Oracles bringing data to the blockchain to Oracle networks being a meta layer to now Oracle Networks being able to a computation layer for blockchains.

So yes, the angle is different. That came with a better understanding of what the industry can and can't accomplish (like the idea of a multichain world is a bust as is having one single global chain) and learning further about the potential of crypto and Chainlink.

Hmm the biggest dot com bubble companies of 1999 were valued between 300 and 600 billion dollars each in the top 5. It took over 15 years for that bubble to pan out. Will it take chainlink that long to reach reach its highest point? Alot of you are saying tge crypto bubble will be bigger than the dotcom bubble. Why?
