Newfag here, I've been trying to understand how moving large volumes of BTC can move its price.
From my understanding, it's all about the order book.
Someone makes a bid with say 500 BTC requested. Since most asks only trade below 1 BTC, the amount of BTC request is enough to cause slippage and raise the current bid price by a ton, right?

In that case, is that how institutions like Tether could be manipulating price?
