S&P, Nasdaq, Dow, and TSX are all very close to sell signals. As per standard strategy rules, I de-risk when indexes are looking questionable. Sold the cemetery stock PLC and sold ZZZ because they have earnings on Monday and I have no reason to think they will a) meet or beat, and b) buck the index trend if it's red on Monday even if they do beat.

I wanted a big chunk of free cash ready to go for Monday.

I don't see much value, from a risk/reward perspective, in attempting to trade anything other than the indexes with or without leverage or options during high volatility periods. The last thing you want is to get stuck in a thing that DOESN'T move up (or down) with the index like you think it ought to.
