Why doesn't /biz/ have investment guides so newfags can get rich or get broke trying? Should we start one in this thread?

I'm the fucking Geezer Oil Trader and I'm here to tell you little shitbirds, with your fucking taper-fade haircuts and your tribal tattoos and your fucking little red string wrist bracelets and your man-bobs that the odds of you being successful with your MBAs and your so-called monikers of CFA and your fucking math degrees and your dumbass engineering skills can be determined by dividing the number 1 by the number of fucking screens in front of you.

OK, I could use some explanations.

I registered for a demo acount on Avatrade last week. I have no experience in trading, I just wanted to try and see how it works. I fiddled with their software for 2-3 hours buying and selling stuff (FOREX) and virtually made around $2.000 by investing around $8.000 (they give you around 135.000 virtual dollars to train but I only used $8.000). I know it can't be that easy because if I could make $2.000 every week by investing as little as $8.000, I'd quit my job right now but still... I'd like to know what happened.

Do they use some kind of fake "easy-mode" streams for demo account?
Are there enormous "hidden" fees or taxes that would reduce my $2.000 to near 0 (or even transform in into debt)?
Did I really make 2.000 virtual dollars I'd have now if I'd went for a real account using real money (beginner's luck I guess)?
