Would a kind hearted fellow please post actual evidence as to whether the short has ended or not? I have no idea how to find data on this

The guy goes long last Friday, the price then tanks further sure, but presumably his contract is open for another few months right? Doesn't he still have time to see the etf raise in price and then exercise his option for profit in November or whenever the long expires?

With all the recent uncertainty, does it make any sense right now to buy equal amounts of UDOW and SDOW with matching trailing stop sell orders to limit risk and guarantee profit in either direction?
