That's referring to the backend. You access eepsites with a regular browser that is simply configured to work with the I2P daemon.

The easiest (and safest) way is to use a dedicated browser bundle, which keeps your clearnet and darknet browsing separate.

Just install the appropriate bundle, run the .bat file to launch (PortApps\I2P\StartI2PdBrowser.bat on Windows) and wait a couple of minutes, I2P usually needs to warm up first.
