tried it, that was my first investing strategy
but it doesnt work at all
price drops to reflect div payout, every single time
and the gains you miss between selling after exdivdate and buying before the next one is a massive chunk of gains
literally every single person whose ever heard of a dividend has thought of this

and even if it did work, theres not enough good companies out there to have a dividend payment every day of the year
