>everyone is turning on their air conditioning for the first time since last year, many (including OP) discover that theirs is no longer working
>"WHY ARE THE HVAC COMPANIES SO BUSY RIGHT NOW?!"
next time get your A/C checked out a month before everyone starts turning theirs on and you won't have any problem with finding a technician

your dad's right. Our monkey brains tell us to FOMO in when something is going up and to sell for a loss when something is crashing. That's why most active investors underperform people who just buy and hold the S&P.

one strategy for mitigating this, which your dad has apparently discovered, is buying lots of different stocks and holding them for as long as possible, only selling stocks as you need to, and only selling ones that have made a profit.

the following companies will pay you interest on BTC deposits:
- BlockFi
- Nexo
- Crypto.com
- Celsius

long story short, only BlockFi is legit. The other three companies finance their operations by selling their own shitcoin, so by trusting them with your BTC you're trusting that their shitcoin will continue to be worth something. BlockFi is backed by Peter Thiel and the Winklevoss twins.

in my experience, the franchises that do best are the ones that bring an entirely new kind of food to the area, e.g. the first In-and-Out in an area, or the first Caine's chicken, or the first Jollibee

yeah your mistake was buying a new car. Never buy a new car, it's basically a tax on stupid people like the lottery or credit card interest.

I know this will come off as LARPing/bragging but I make six figures and so do all of my coworkers and I'd say nearly half of these people drive crappy used cars even though they could easily afford better. I know VPs that make half a million per year and they drive crappy used cars. Warren Buffet drives a crappy used car.

And yet lower-middle-class people will shackle themselves to an auto loan for 5 to 7 years, with very little discretionary income left over, just so they can show off their shiny new truck to their friends and neighbors.

So now regarding your question, I'd keep the truck, refinance at a lower interest rate (if your credit score is better now than it was then), make as many early payments as you can on the refinanced loan, and try to keep the truck running for the next 20+ years, so you can get your full money's worth out of it. What I would NOT do is continue talking yourself into getting another car and taking on more auto loan debt.
