Turn 35 in a few months and pretty much gave up any hope in this regard. My parents are begrudgingly accepting the reality as well. Too dead inside to really care at this point which is the only thing that does kind of bother me. As far as I'm concerned boomers and Gen X had life on ez mode. Both of them could afford to have a kid at 20 on a complete whim, both of them fell into well paying careers with no experience or education back when no one ran you through 4 round interviews and demanded 5+ years of experience and a mile long list of credentials and certificates for an entry level job.

At this point I just want to get drunk, high, enjoy my hobbies, and one day afford a home. Everything else feels like a meaningless pipe dream as I've spent my whole life watching the US just get progressively more shit and hopeless and now I'm mentally and emotionally checked out after going through so many hoops just to get a job that pays more than minimum wage.
