How to mine monero with cpu:
Download xmrig .zip folder for ubuntu linux (it's on github)
extract files and look for donate.h file
edit, scroll down, change min donate level to 0
save and exit
in terminal, go to xmrig by typing and entering: cd ~/your file path/xmrig
type and enter(include the two dots): cmake ..
mkdir build
cd build
in this build folder you made, in terminal type: make
go to xmrig github and use the wizard along with a monero wallet address to generate the command to run in terminal
in terminal (use cd to get into your xmrig build folder) copy and paste the command
mine monero
save your mining command so you can start it again easy if you restart
