The fees aren't STA specific. It's the same for any ETH token right now. The ETH network is very, very congested at the moment. Has been for several weeks.

It took me a while too. Current rates of burn put us at only ~50mil remaining STA end of this year. And that's just the deflation aspect. As more pool owners see that it boosts the earnings in their pool they will buy in, in large amounts. AND the marketing efforts haven't even begun yet. Who knows where that might take the adoption levels. The future's looking comfortable.

Bear in mind that for a large part of that time STA wasn't burning in the way it was originally intended. It's only since the wSTA development in the last few weeks that it's once again started burning properly.
