no, Marx merely points out that with metal money the speed of the economy is limited by how fast you can move the physical metal around. therefore paper money is likely to appear, initially gold backed. I forget whether he talks about fiat, that may be before his time. he certainly talks about finance, primarily in vol 3 of Capital, which I have not yet read
Marx and marxists aren't pro or anti this form of money or the other. money capital takes whatever form is useful for reproducing capital at that moment. I believe Marx predicts the aufhebung of the money form, that money would eventually play out its role, should a sufficiently advanced mode of production come along, that mode of production being communism. so far this obviously hasn't happened
