These mining pools are made up of millions of miners from all over the world who do not have a connection with each other other than increase chancing of finding blocks and share rewards. Miners can switch pools in an instant and have multiple pools configured for failover. Example, when one of the largest mining pool, Poolin had liquidity issues, the hash power of the ming pool fell -94%.
