Because of the corona virus financial modeling has become an impossibility for professional investors, so as an amatuer investor myself I am currently not bothering with even trying model future cash flows. So I am thinking you’ll have to resort to looking at the balance sheet and operating costs. I am currently using the P/B-ratio, looking how long the company can use its cash or working capital if it had no sales and just operating costs. An anon gave me a suggestion to use the Altman z-score earlier this week but I think it is kinda flawed since it incorperates the MC, sales and EBIT, all of which at the current moment are changing heavily.
The reason for this thread is to discuss what stock you think will get through this recession and what metrics you use to validate that opinion. For example what do you guys think of cruise line stocks? Their P/B-ratio is under 0.5 but they are leveraged so much up their ass. I mean the case there is that Trump bails them out, right?
