Any scrutiny of the SEC's legal case shows it is nonsense--"enforcement" of policies toward cryptocurrency that have never existed or been articulated to anyone anywhere, so it's almost like they wanted *any* excuse to cast a cloud of prolonged legal uncertainty over XRP for years until an envitable settlment or defeat in court. Basically, filing and prolonging the lawsuit itself was the point, not winning it. We can only speculate at the real motives (and intended timing) for this sort-term obstruction of XRP. I suspect the truth lies in the "Hinman emails," and the extent to which the SEC staff has been compromised by kickbacks from ETH Foundation. Surpressing XRP with bad publicity offers major advantage to any competitors, especially if you already declared said competitors to be definitely "not securities" without ever explaining the distinction between the 2 assets. (SEC has since 180'd on ETH not being a security but that's recent news)
