The last 15 years, the Fed was cutting interest rates or keeping them at zero. This had the exact opposite effect on stock prices, sending stock prices higher. ZIRP was like rocket fuel to the stock market for all of the four reasons given above (in reverse). Now that the Fed is raising interest rates, the stock market will be hammered.

The Fed is being forced to raise interest rates because of high inflation. We are near the beginning of the interest rate raising process, so you can expect stocks to go a lot lower from here. This is still a very good time to sell, with a plan to repurchase stocks in six months to a year, when they can be had a huge discount to today’s prices.
