This kind of negative outlook towards these opportunities and situations makes you limited in your actions because you are closing off doors to make a profit simply because your ego wants you to feel that you’re superior because you don’t even touch anything like that. You limit your choices, limit your ability to see potential x10, x100, x1000 simply because you want to keep feeling like you are right and the rest of us commoners who do trade it - don’t know what we’re doing.

It’s not always about investing in projects - I don’t care if it’s something people say will be shit. If the website is decently explained, it’s listed on bigger exchanges, has medium volume that can spring up from updates on said website, and buy and sell orders are made minutes apart rather than hours or days for supreme shitcoins - then wouldn’t holding and swing trading alts that can jump x1000 in days be worth doing?

Tricky question. Because risk depends upon your own psychological profile.

Basically. How much can you stomach in portfolio movement where a certain threshold drop would make you want to throw yourself out of a window.
Risk is the price you pay for potential reward. The higher the risk the greater the reward - but at times with crypto - there is such a thing as high risk and little to no worthwhile reward.

Take a risk tolerance test and see where you fall. Aside from crypto it’s used to determine whether people can handle their assets with more volatile indexes and stock. Boomers like stability and like bonds and stocks in macro cap markets - as its stable. With savings account interest rates - sure you’ll be getting eating away by inflation reducing your buying power but you can be comfy knowing you’ll get XYZ no matter what - but RIETS and Treasury Funds fight inflation but at the cost of having to be in for a longer time.

I’ve seen guys make 100ks in days where some boomer probably has to waste his youth away to have his cola stocks grow. The choice is yours. You don’t chase risk - you take it. Benjamin Graham’s book the intelligent investor sums it up nicely.

You’re driving a car - going from point A to B. It is safer to drive at 60 KM/H and get there a little later than say 180 KM/H. Sure you’ll get there much faster - but if you get in an accident - with 60 you can stand better chance of living while 180 would kill you. In the case of money - it’s surviving the market events and not blowing up your account.
