I studied mechanical, but I’ve been stuck doing manufacturing engineering (aerospace) since I graduated 3 years ago. In other words, I’ve missed the opportunity for entry level design work, which would be a lot more suitable for remote work. I’m attempting to abandon engineering entirely at this point and pivot into software/IT/finance jobs. Everyone makes more money than me and all they need is a laptop.

I'm an unemployed non-essential who lost almost everything to a manufactured political power grab masquerading as a pandemic. My savings would have been gone by summer. I was going to kill myself by the end of the year. Fuck these people. I want them to hurt. This is the same suffering they've inflicted on people for years by being vultures who are so greedy they pick at bodies which aren't even fully dead yet. I’m an engineer and my job makes me suicidal (it’s been 2 years of this). I have savings and I’m considering quitting so I can study full time (The Odin Project) and get a remote dev job. I would probably make more money than I do now, and with an engineering degree I feel like my resume won’t just get trashed.

I’m at work, in the office. Mandatory masks since July. 40hrs (at least) of wearing a mask, every week. If you ever dislike WFH, please think of me. Think of what they’re doing to your boy. Be grateful anons. Cherish the privilege. I hope to be in your position someday soon, otherwise it might be my time to die.

This is exactly what I'm doing. I have literally nothing to lose so I may as well try my luck with crypto and penny stocks. At best I'll end up a millionaire, at worst I'll still be poor and depressed. Nowhere to go but up.
