I just want enough to make it, but I am afraid to tap into that nest egg. In my mind it's valuable if I get laid off and it allows me to take my time looking for a job. I finally have a job I don't hate. But there's 12k just sitting there in a saving account that only slightly slows the decay of inflation. My money is literally rotting.
