possibly
>What metric do you use for xAxis?
time, or s-domain, or frequency domain, depends on what you doing with Fourier
>Just the index of the candle?
more like see the s-domain price for different time periods
>If you use time it's hardly well defined since you have jumps in there. I thought that I base it off volume, means that I close the cadle when a certain volume threshhold is reached. Time really has nothing to do with stocks movements.
sime is what determines if (when) you buy and sell a stock

time has everything to do with the stock market itself

also fuck me, i think i meant doing Laplace transforms on stock data (then build up stock price into a fourier sum of sin+cos functions, see if any patterns emerge)

in simple terms, frequency domain allows you to see past the noise in the time domain

wikipedia may be the best place to start if you want more details, because if you dont know calc, then the technical definitions of frequency analysis (fourier analysis, FFT, IDFT, DFT, ectera)
