You don't understand. Taxation and government spending is not about efficiency or funding for public works. It is about keeping normies obedient and compliant to their regime. Every person thinks that taxation is outrageous when they're 18-20, and is buck broken by the time they're 25, leaving a good long 4 decades for them to obediently pay tribute.
