Well, there's three possible scenarios I see:

1. The fed succeeds at its stated objective of creating slightly above-average inflation but not in such a high range that normies panic. This will require the full support of congress (stimulus) and flawless execution from the fed, and realistically support and buy-in from the media.
2. The fed fucks up and there's 1970's style 10% a year inflation. This actually still requires full congressional support, as it'll require fiscal stimulus. Fed will have to pull a Volcker to recover but by then it'll be far too late for everyone in cash or bonds.
3. Congress continuously shits itself and fails to apply fiscal stimulus, causing things to revert to asset price inflation / consumer price deflation. Real economy goes down the drain.

So in summary, the bull case for the dollar is congress doing nothing. Considering people on both sides of the political spectrum will probably literally riot in the streets if this happens, I'm thinking at least some stimulus is forthcoming. However, it's not out of the question to have some flashcrashes in the meantime, which is why I don't use leverage and stay debt-free.

One of those is not like the other, airlines have always been a shit investment and the value of the shares is not required for their continued existence. Meanwhile, oil is used to power literally every aspect of the global economy and was only temporarily been cast aside as an investment due to "muh green revolution imminent, oil is over". I'm up 50% on BSM (oil royalties company, normally a boomer smallcap dividend play) and their now-sustainable, reinstated dividend is >10% at my cost basis, tell me again it's a value trap. Even some shale guys were worth buying recently if you believe $40 per barrel is the long-term floor.
