so with my 5 kids i strictly control their access to electronics and liberally use parental controls

they can watch youtube, but only after reading, homework, and doing the myriad of chores i assign them; even then, it's restricted mode with no comments

they will literally have no social media until they're 18 if i can help it, i don't give a FUCK what it does to their social lives

and that's the real difference, why my 5 kids don't bother me as much; i refuse to bend the knee to modern conventions or their nagging; ultimately as an adult, you have full control over their lives, so why give it up?
