uhh so XUMM allows you to interface directly with the XRP ledger and trade on its built in decentralized exchange. after you send the IOUs to your XUMM, there's an in-app option to trade them for other assets. then you can cash them out on Bitstamp or Gatehub (and maybe other places, I'm not sure about what other gateways exist). this video shows the process

it's kinda tricky, especially for the tech illiterate like myself, but i have fun learning about this stuff because i really do believe that the financial system of the future is going to be built around the XRPL and the more i learn now, the easier i'll be able to navigate it (and use it to make money) in the future. like, i imagine that most people or even institutions will not use the XRPL or Flare directly, they'll use "services" so if i put in the work now and educate myself, maybe i'll be able to have a sideline as a Flare agent or XRPL stablecoin Forex arbitrage trader or some futuristic bullshit, idk. And even if i don't use it to make money in the future it's still rad as fuck, once you grok what the XRPL is and does, it's amazing. literally UFO level technology. for example, the concept of "Rippling," applied to international finance, alone is fucking huge and revolutionary.
