HEX is a new cryptocurrency that works like a CD on a blockchain. Basically, "stake it until you make it". Instead of paying rewards to miners the rewards go to anyone that stakes. The interface is pretty cool too.

If you have bitcoin, then you might be able to free claim as long as you have a wallet that you own the keys to. You will need to be able to sign a message. HEX is free to bitcoin holders for the next year. You don't lose your bitcoin or anything like that.
