>I suspect you manifest cheapies into reality by simply thinking about them, you jungian freak.

My whole family has come to this same conclusion as well, kek.

>I could see this having downsides as well
The only "downsides" might be needing to polish tarnished items you intend to display or use and reserving enough space to store it, as silverware takes up much more room than a stack of ingots of the same weight.

>I was putting my backpack in his trunk (ara ara) and I saw some scrap sterling.

Not sure how I feel about homosexuals gettin' in on the scrap sterling game, though I am curious about what he found. Anything good like a chonky tea set or just a little things?

>I know leaving silver in water canisters for preservation is a common thing

Leaving water in silver canisters is even better!

>So like 38 ounces is what puts you in the 1% bracket?

No, there is way more than 3.25 billion ounces of silver that would be economically available, that number is probably just the silver in eligible 1000oz coomex bar form. A more honest number which includes most of the numismatics, gov't and generic bullion, silverware and jewelry floating around would be more like 20 billion ounces, so you'd need ~234oz to be in the 1%er bracket.

>i cant bring myself to just buy bullion now. im slowly replacing everyday use items with ones made of silver.

Makes me happy to see, the sterling-pill is both delicious and patrician good work anon. Bullion and coins are awesome but fine silver is its own world. I like that candle snuffer it's more aesthetic than most, who made it?

The 1930 video on sterling silver manufacturing anon shared yesterday hit me in the feels:

>Silver; a credit to its owner, a fortune in time of need, and a precious inheritance for coming generations
Too few people today appreciate the antique sterling that they inherit, besides old coins it's my favorite stuff and so much junk mass-produced silver along with special handmade articles have been scrapped in the past 100 years that the quality pieces have become quite rare. Because of the wartime disruptions and periods of privation in Europe even more there has been lost or melted. There's a book by the archaeologist Ivor Noel Hume "All The Best Rubbish" where he talks about his childhood observations in England in the 1940s and how medieval books and priceless ancient furniture were used as fuel and cellars full of treasures under bombed out ruins got crushed and buried for new construction, no one cared about saving any of it. The losses of historical heritage, libraries, archives and fine art in Europe were incalculable, it makes me seethe whenever I think about it.

Anyway I found a more modern video on the creation of Gorham sterling silverware which is worth a watch too:

Very nice, is that a new score? What's the story, is it antique European .800 or a piece of Asian export silver?
