I used to think like this and in many cases you are correct, when you see how similar the expensive ones are to the cheapo versions then you will feel stupid for paying the extra for basic molded plastic and a couple of shiny screws.
Really depends what you're buying for that price but in some cases, it's totally worth it - you will feel like a Rockstar and at least you'll know that the lenses will actually protect your eyes!
