I wish the US would export more, but I've been hearing for 15 years that exports will save the American coal industry. I hear it again now. Meanwhile, the US coal industry has shrunk more than 50% in since 2009. And this year is shaping up to be a disaster for coal miners, with layoffs going on all across the country and coal miners scrambling for work.
It's a sad situation brought on by lazy management who lack foresight. They need to get their asses in gear and get much more into the Asian markets.
