For the last three years I had been collecting “copper” scrap from my job. Nothing crazy, just always neat to find copper. Today an electrician saw me grabbing some and said “you know that’s just copper covered aluminum right?”. I went home, checked my box full of “copper” wires, cut a few in half to reveal ALUMINUM. Fucking hell, I thought I had $500 (150 lbs) of copper. The pain is unreal.
