>unironically yes, Monero wins only in the case that we go full dystopia
I don't think you people understand how transparent is Bitcoin. I'm always wondering it these comments are made out of ignorance or malice.
Would you be able to conceive the implications of having a vast part of the economy running on a transparent ledger, void of financial privacy?
Maybe you think that even if bitcoin's ledger is transparent no one will trace the transactions. My negro, this is all done automatically, you barely need manpower to be able to create a very thorough graph analysis of UTXOs movements. You literally just have to search demo presentation of tracing analysis software on YouTube to see how they have been doing this since 2017, probably before.
A future with bitcoin and without monero means a future where your transactions are absolutely with 100% certainty going to be traced, catalogued and attributed a 'score', and if you take extra steps to obtain some degree of privacy then these UTXOs will be flagged as dangerous.
I mean, it's already the case, right? Plenty of stories out there of people having their bitcoin funds frozen because they used a mixer and coinjoin. Bitcoin users will say that this is OK because you're not supposed to use exchanges anyway, but the point is that all these transactions and UTXOs can be easily flagged by whatever entity and authority. If exchanges can arbitrarily refuse funds based on their history, you can bet big business will do the same once the government send them the "compliance module" to be installed in the point-of-sale software.
>Monero wins only in the case that we go full dystopia
Do you truly, really believe we need to reach full dystopia to get authorities tracing and flagging every transaction in bitcoin's ledger? You think that would be something too hard to achieve? Maybe your understanding of technology is very limited.

Financial privacy is not going anywhere, faggots.
