Just waiting to grab more krugs, I'll keep my eyes open for any dips in March. Currently working on building out a concealment stash under a DIY lift-up desk top. Thinking I'll line it with foam, and then do cutouts for a few of my guns, my gold coins, a tube or two of silver, and maybe a knife or two depending on how much room I've got. Make it look like a John Wick stash.

2rands are under $500 for the first time in a couple weeks after bumping up over it. I gotta fly home from Boston back to SC tomorrow, and if they're still under $500 by the time I get back I'm thinking I might take that as my sign to grab a couple.

My mom did a study program in South Africa as a teenager, grandma gave her fistfuls of cash and instructions to get as much diamonds and gold as she could on the cheap there. Our family now has a small fortune in the stuff. My wife has a 1.5 carat diamond on her finger that my mom brought back from there. Feels like I'm following a family tradition at this point.

Didn't take a pic, but paneer tikka masala that my wife made. Now I'm sitting down with a 42 oz thermos of coffee and procrastinating on an essay that I've got due in 2 hours. Investing in myself by finishing my BSN in March, and then hopefully looking at grad school options after. The pay jump from an RN to an NP can be truly insane depending on the field you're working in, and I wouldn't mind getting an extra 30-40k a year to drop on gold/silver, ammo, and hobbies/travelling. Depends on what you mean by "when the world ends." If there's civil or international war that puts armed militants in my city? Then gold and silver are not my primary concern, my concern is securing my home against dangers. If a food shortage erupts due to disruptions in global supply chains? My emergency pantry, my seed bank, my garden plots, and my neighbors are more important than gold and silver (I've seen bee boxes belonging to a guy down my street, and I've grown enough peppers to trade him some hot sauce for some honey). I'll be panic planting potatoes and eating canned pork'n'beans while they grow.

No, gold and silver is a "just in case" for financial collapse. The US government already cannot pay even the interest on the insane amount of debt it's accrued. It's no an if, but a when, the fiat economy finally collapses, and whatever economic system comes out the other side is going to have to be pegged to a tangible asset again for anyone to trust it. We used the gold standard in America until 1976 (though we severely crippled it in '44), and I believe that we will HAVE to peg the dollar to it again if we have any hope of rebuilding. Having a stash of precious metals is to help me preserve my wealth and get ahead of the game in an occurrence such as this.

I remember about one and a half to two years ago, the guy behind the anti-pmg bot actually got involved in one the threads. Dude lost thousands trying and failing to flip crypto and was pissy over the idea that someone would buy gold and silver over his BTC and ETH. So he made it his mission to try to shit up the threads as often as possible, because if he wasn't having a good time, then no one was allowed to have a good time.

I mean, ignoring the idea that it could be a bot, imagine the type of HUMAN who would monitor every pmg thread 24/7, and post in it so religiously that he always comprises 20-25% of the responses in any given thread. That's the kind of broken insanity that only a man who thought he was smart enough to play the market and found out a few lessons the hard way can possess. As much as he annoys me and pisses me off, at least I can take solace in the knowledge that I'm not THAT desperate of an individual.

I love me some krugs. I haven't bought any fractional krugerrands yet, but a 2rand has roughly 1/4oz of gold as well as the historical factor. I'm probably gonna keep my gold krugs to 1oz each, and stick to the 2rand coins if I want fractional gold in that style.

Like yours can legally be used for purchasing in Utah, though you'd probably have a hard time spending it at the grocery store. I'm pretty sure the guys producing the goldbacks have worked out a legal deal with each state that they're stamped in, and that's why you can only get them in like 6 different state varieties at this point. I know the premiums on them make them completely not worth it, but I'm feeling the desire to get a small stack of them as well.

I love me some Krugerrands. My mom spent a year in South Africa during high school as part of an exchange program, and before she left grandma gave her two fistfuls of cash and the instruction to bring home as much gold and as many diamonds as she could. I'm not privy to the contents of my parent's safe, but I know there's at least one full sleeve of 1oz gold krugerrands along with a scattering of 2rand coins, and a small baggie of assorted diamonds (one of which is actually currently sitting on my wife's finger).
I know I've only got one 1oz gold krug, 1 2rand, and 2 sleeves of silver krugs, but learning that story gave me such a vicious lust for acquiring African treasure that I'm about to buy a pith helmet and dedicate my life to stacking nothing else at this point.

Had a wonderful salad tonight with arugala and blueberries from the garden. Give it about a month and I’ll add peaches to that mix once they finish ripening on my trees.
