There is a third outcome for individual crypto projects that is very rarely discussed. In this young market people fixate on two possibilities, either the project is wildly successful, or it tanks. But it's not often people consider the fact that a project might launch successfully, and go completely as planned, and the token price will stagnate or even fall, as the economic reality of the project is reified.
I think it's an interesting exercise to consider whether you would still want a stake in a project if it was more or less guaranteed that it would only make marginal gains from that point on. It may seem spurious, but it's a way to consider a project with more of a disconnect from obsessing over price.

Or at the other end:

The p2p applications of smart contracts are going to change the very foundation of society.
