Their entire life was lived through a time of economic prosperity with savings accounts going up to 10% interest in the 80's, basically risk free, which was followed by rampant runaway inflation. If you get a look at the chart for SPX, just by holding the index it went from approximately 100-3200; that's a 32x return for doing absolutely nothing but buying up the average.

They have all the benefits of a giant ponzi scheme basically printing money into their pockets.

Enter Millenial.

Whether you went to college or not our working age was defined by the 2008 great recession. If you were lucky or had the correct guidance (which the average boomer couldn't provide since they played life on easy mode the entire way through), you landed in a cushy tech or medical profession paying $100k+. This is clearly not the average wage. Those of us who went into other majors, or even STEM/manufacturing saw extreme competition for even rudimentary positions. Wages stagnated while the prices of all other assets inflated to the point where no matter what we are buying the top.
