It's a remarkable coincidence that the three banks who did the most business with crypto, SVB, Silvergate and Signature, are the first three to go under on the back of Fed rate rises.
But why were these banks so specifically exposed to low rate government T bonds? Would it be much of an imaginative leap to say that the government coerced them into it? That they said:
>Crypto is highly volatile, so if you want to interface with it, we need you to to show you are playing ball. If your folio is heavily geared towards low risk government bonds then we will let you continue to play with your crypto coins.
Then the Fed shoots up interest rates, rugpulling those three banks, after luring them into the trap in the first place.
It would certainly be a strong message from the govt/Fed cartel to any other banks who wanted crypto exposure, wouldn't it.
