Krugs have a lower premium while being the same weight and purity as the AGE. Both have a good design. My first ounce of Gold was a Krugerrand, and honestly it wasn't a bad deal considering I bought it for less than half the premium of an Eagle and will be able to resell for spot.
Also, some of the Krugs from the late 60s early 70s and Early 90s have very low mintages relative to Eagles, you're unlikely to get them from an ordinary LCS purchase, but they have that going for them as well.

>I want them but they sell for insane premiums.
Really? The Gold ones have fairly low premiums in my experience. I got this one (which is a lower mintage date but has some Copper spotting on the reverse) for only $40 over spot.
If you know of a place I can resell them at high premiums, please let me know.

Next time call ahead and see if the guy will set aside a few ounces for you. I live in an area with a large jewish population and my LCS usually gets sold out of Gold within a day or two of him getting it in stock. If I don't call ahead, he's almost guaranteed to be sold out by the time I make it to the shop.

No.
Truthfully I'm not in Gold for the investment, I'm in Gold for if I need to flee the country and take my wealth with me during the collapse. The price for the boat ride out of Vietnam was 1 ozt. of Gold. I imagine things will be similar here when things fall apart.

Yes, they are. I have one, it's reeded. I'm too lazy to get it out right now and take a photo of the edge, but they're reeded. You can sort of make it out in this photo.

It's full of Gold, Diamonds, Platinum Group Metals and all other manner of valuable substances, plus a lot of people who aren't currently working. Just use all of the cheap labor to extract the mineral wealth and sell it to the rest of the world.

I only buy Gold in person, got pic related for $40 over spot a couple weeks ago at my LCS. Just handed the guy $1900 in cash and left with the Krug, didn't need to do anything else.
You may want to call ahead to the coin shop if to see if they have Gold in stock, it can sell out pretty quickly in areas with larger populations.

You're right. No Government has ever cofiscated Silver compared with the countless ones that confiscated Gold. Most of us here would primarily stack Gold if we could afford it.
