The Chainlink narrative is alive and well, it's the price that is shit. Everyone in crypto has a very strong opinion about Chainlink, either that it's the God Protocol or that it's non-differentiated vaporware. But what's perhaps most unique about Chainlink though is that there is an extremely dedicated cadre of fudders fully commited to driving the price as low as possible for as long as can be sustained. Before the last bull run this group was entirely composed of linkies from /biz/ as a half-serious joke. However, today this group consists of top buyers out for revenge, completely unhinged and amoral VCs, the assorted mafias within Crypto (MEV, CeFi) whose revenue streams are threatened by Chainlink, and a small group of sociopathic OGs who fud compulsively. Unfortunately I think we're going to have to wait for network effects/TradFi bids to drive the price up this time. There are too many well financed groups within crypto that need Chainlink to stick around so that they can remain in business but can't afford to let it get too big for its britches.
