This guy >>10148209 inspired me to share my own story.

>summer 2017
>made some gains in crypto, not much but enough to spark interest in my brother
>he wants me to invest for him
>I'm reluctant at first, but think fuck it, I let him know that I can lose it and he's ok with it
>gives me a couple hundred dollars and I add it to my stack, we calculate how much % of the stack is his and I promise to give him his share in the future
>fall and winter 2017 happens, gains beyond any expectation
>calls me every week asking how much I "owe him"
>eventually asks me for his share of the gains in early 2018
>his % yields him about $20k
>feel uneasy parting with that sum, but a deal is a deal and after all he's my brother so I send him his money in Bitcoin
>he decided that instead of cashing out he's gonna keep it in crypto and try trading
>losses about 5k trying to day trade Bitcoin in March
>falls to the hodl meme and losses more holding shitcoins he bought in April
>discovers a website that "trades for you" your Bitcoins
>I immediately warn him that it's most likely a scam
>he doesn't do any research where a simple google search would have shown him how shady it was
>puts 0.1 btc into it
>shows me his "balance" a week later and boasts that they made him 2 btc
>tell him to try to withdraw to make sure it's legit
>3 weeks go by
>one morning get a call from him
>he sounds really desperate
>asks me to lend him 1.5 btc because apparently he needs to pay some "tax" to the trading algorithm guy from the website so he can withdraw all his gains
>I can't really contain myself and I go all off, asking how gullible he is for believing any of this shit and how can't he see it's a scam
>turns out he put 1 btc into that website a week earlier, didn't even try to withdraw when I told him
>that money is basically gone
>he's left with a few hundred bucks from the 20k I gave him
At least he's not in debt, amiright?
