Fun fact: now that copper is above $4.60/lb avdp, the melt value of a pre-1982 US penny is genuinely 3 cents.

Half of any group will be against whatever you say.
For my part, posting pics of Cu is wonderful.
Saying Cu is a precious metal is not okay. It's a base metal. One big clue: its spot price is listed by the pound... avpd no less.
I still think it's a gorgeous metal, but not worthy of physical investment for profit (you need too much of it) - futures would be sensible.

>Is it silly to stack copper?
Yes and no. Copper has done well for me over the past dozen years. However, you need so much of it to make a contribution to a portfolio that it's impractical as a physical stack.
Perhaps stock in copper mines would be good, but that's not a game I play.

It's a lovely color when polished.
It does smell, and makes your skin stink after handling it.
It has good antibacterial properties (organisms don't live long on its surface - one reason brass railings and doorknobs in public places are popular).
It oxidizes (gets ugly) comically fast.
It seems normies think it's valuable.
There's a lot of the stuff - it probably won't moon.

There are some very nice designs in copper, and they're good for kids - they oxidize fairly quickly (lesson on care, storage, and maybe cleaning), they don't cost a lot (no great loss if stolen/lost), they're an unusual showoff item for their friends, and they serve as trainers for proper PMs.
