I was at my local McDonald's the other day when I saw an overweight man in plaid huddled in the corner by the restrooms. He was intensely focused on something in front him and it wasn't until I got closer I realized that he was playing with the Legos that came with his happy meal. smart contracts are going to basically become the default form of agreements in the future. smart contracts need reliable data to trigger, other wise they're useless and will trigger at the wrong times, wont trigger at all, will do the wrong payouts, etc.

link nodes are basically like mining bitcoin but instead of mining bitcoin its mining for good data, which is way more important than you might think. and contracts triggering reliably and correctly with no one interfering with them is bigger than you think too. these data feeds, which are starting off simple but will become more complex as chainlink develops and are already much more complex than they were even a year ago, are going to become the backbone of how the world transacts in the future. the chainlink network is shaping up to be the market leader right now, they have first mover advantage. they have the most varied amount of data feeds and the most varied ways to access this data. and the more data feeds you have the stronger a network becomes, metcalfes law.

ever hear of the internet of things? its a huge concept read up on it if you havent.

chainlink is essentially monetizing trust. in the internet of things framework, chainlink is the internet of contracts or the internet of trust. that is very valuable, and the more expensive or costly a transaction is, the more you would like that transaction to be secure. monetizing trusted data sounds weird to us but does big bring value in the "data is the new oil" paradigm, the same way that monetizing data would have sounded strange in the early 90s but how many companies have made billions off of monetizing data today.

the way i see it, and these are the dominoes that need to fall in order of how i think they'll happen.


1) hyperledger mainnet and big companies in the financial and tech world bending the knee

2) smart contracts being used more by said companies. people here with their dopamine running low are forgetting that smart contracts are barely useful right now and still don't have as many applications as tech nerds think they will. smart contracts are still in very early development and this is early on in the early adopters phase where really only enthusiasts are playing around with smart contracts, we're years off on the usage curve. i think this will result in the true singularity.

3) automation to kick in and for services rendered through automation to be settled via automatic digital payments and smart contracts. this is the one thats furthest off. maybe closer to the middle or the late 2020s. this is where we'll see if link can truly be an "industry standard." and only for the more patient linkies.

i want to be happy, healthy, wise, and to have a 10/10 slamming qt gf that is also happy, healthy, and wise who doesn't bang black guys ever and who is also somewhat socially autistic and likes to stay in a like but who still likes to go do fun things every once in awhile and id like to have either no job or have a job thats actually fun a profitable, low stress. and i want to get blown pretty much every day.
