I'm not 100% convinced I'm going to make it because there's some chance XMR ends up being the Linux of the cryptocurrencies, and not in the sense that Linux is being on almost all servers out there but in the desktop sense. I feel like it's going to be really hard to market and promote a project like XMR considering the high level of retardation from BTC maximalists. Too many people trust these shitty twitter influencers. Also, I know all of you faggots hate twitter and reddit and you do good to hate these platforms, but if you have an account there remember to advocate for privacy and XMR every now and then. If BTC fails, the DNM will still exist and be using XMR. If BTC fails, the shadow economy will continue adopting and using XMR regardless. The crypto genie is out of the bottle, the only question is who will survive natural selection i.e. once the hype dies down which crypto ultimately provides the most utility and reliability?

Once atomic swaps are operational, BTC to XMR to BTC swaps will become the gold standard for BTC mixing/cleaning/rebirthing. And since BTC is inherently non-fungible and potentially tainted while XMR is fungible and immaculate, BTC holders will be at a distinct disadvantage and subject to paying XMR holders respectable premiums for the privilege of using Monero's God-Tier transactional privacy. Don't want to pay a premium? Go use an inferior and potentially compromised mixer then.

In other words, BTC needs XMR to provide it fungibility-by-proxy. And this will remain the case as long as XMR remains the premier privacy coin.

Totally up to you. It depends on what your plans are. I've been doing mostly Kraken and keeping it in a KYC wallet, doing some trades on bisq in a separate wallet. I'm planning to retire on it in Peurto Rico or somewhere that doesn't tax crypto so it doesn't matter for me, but some Anon's prefer to have no trail. The community is very privacy focussed, so a lot of people like to use P2P exchanges, but it's not necessary for newfags to jump through such hoops
