>quite the contrary, im only here to try and make others lives less painful and meaningless.
It may be helpful to look into something called codependency its a stress response. A nervous system 'fawn' response where people use caring for people to manipulate the world.

TLDR
Memories/nervous system responses get locked for life unless updated.
You need to updated your nervous system responses in order to change the way you feel.

Below is my copy pasta.
Learning this stuff some of which is barely 6 months old, has been the best return on time investment I've had in my life.

You want to apply therapy techniques to yourself or with a therapist that trigger a type of neuro plasticity called memory reconsolidation.
The therapy techniques I recommend are:
EMDR
Internal Family Systems
Coherence therapy

Cerebral narcissism detected.

What physical evidence informs your theories? flexing... is dumb by the way.

>How do i cope with the fact that my parents are going to die one day?
I had this same issue.
> I only managed to beat my cocaine addiction because of him.
Have you tried any therapy techniques such as EMDR?
TLDR
The feeling and thoughts you are having are just prediction errors stored in your brain from the past, you need to update them to make them change and reduce the amount of prediction error.

Also look into codependency. Your coke addiction is another sign you have "trauma" stored in your brain, you used coke to escape the trauma feelings.

The physical evidence is a type of neuroplasticity.

>I feel bad for my Father, but he doesn’t show any empathy for me
He doesn't use the pathways of empathy for himself either.
>But why do you abuse him back? Shouldn’t there be a healthier way to deal with it? Like focusing on common interests?
I do focus on common interests such as investing and science. But when he's abusive there is no response to reason as his prefrontal cortex shuts down. So to hit his nervous system I need to be aggressive back to protect myself no different than if a dog bit me.

Look up codependency, you most likely come from a "fawn" nervous system response. When conflict occurs you most likely think about how to reduce it by being friendly. Look at this table.

These are just hardwired stress responses that make no real sense most of the time It's like farting yeah its part of the system but it's definitely not that useful or desirable.
