Expanding on this even more: what does mass deleveraging do to the underlying currency? It causes deflation. If you've read "The Changing World Order" by Ray Dalio, you know that hard, sustained deflation is the only thing that can save a diluted reserve currency like the US dollar from the death cycle all reserve currencies experience over centuries. Historically governments have never done this because being left holding the bag for deflation gets governments physically removed from power. Allowing a major deflation event and leaving a bunch of hedgies holding the bag? That's too good for the federal reserve to pass up. The MOASS therefore aligns with our central bank's policy goals and is inevitable, even ignoring the capgains windfall that the federal government will reap to pay off our national debt.

There's a funny side to this mechanism: foreign holders. By insisting on getting paid and forcing the US government to pay them, foreign holders cement the US dollar's status as world reserve currency for at least another century, crippling their own nations' ability to do anything at all contradictory to American wishes. Thanks for the power boost, you retarded simps.

Of course this does mean you shouldn't put 100% of your MOASS gains back into the stock markets, crypto, PMs, or even real estate - cash is going to be king until the aftershocks of deleveraging/deflation finish, so keep some USD on hand to buy dips. If you've ever ridden out a crypto bear market in stablecoins, this is the exact same dynamic but with physical assets.
