i wouldnt call it poomping exactly, its just been going steadily up at a pretty fixed rate since like 2010. but other than that yeah. i think theyre able to outdo typical apparel retail because the closeout/overstock thing implies that you can find better deals there than online, and that is true to some extent. i would definitely buy it if it dipped below the apparent line by a lot.

but anecdotally, its not really the same store it used to be, you used to actually be able to find some genuinely expensive designer stuff at a huge discount because it had some minor flaw or whatever, but now its about 50% made-for-outlet stuff and the rest is pretty bleh.

probably the best place to pick up discounted like nike/puma/adidas stuff though, not shoes but just random workout gear and underwear/socks, as long as you dont care that its last season's stuff, and i doubt most men do.
