Genuine question from a stock retard. I still don't see why the stock is going to go up. Maybe I just don't understand how a short works. Aren't the just essentially paying back the lender for the price of the stock they essentially borrowed? As in its not going back into the market? From where I'm standing it just looks like people buying the top of a pumped stock. I don't understand why it won't just plummet the minute the hedgies payback their lenders.
