the SEC verified short sellers were known to close during the run to $480.

short sellers open and close positions every day. So many of them seem to think short sellers just open a position and hold it until bankruptcy, which is absurd.

To believe no short sellers have ever closed requires you to believe;

1. Melvin fund somehow kept short positions open but managed to lose massive amounts of money and close the fund

2. Every single data source is corrupt and lying about short interest

3. The SEC is corrupt and lied about short sellers closing

4a. The hundreds of millions or billions of GME shares traded since the $480 peak somehow didn’t include a single short seller closing.

4b. This also implies every single trade was a retail to retail trade if no funds were closing positions, where did the shares come from?

4c. This flies in the face of “retail never sold a single share”

4d. Which means you now also have to believe every traded share since $480 was a “fake” share”, despite the fact this is completely asinine to believe and there are screenshots of sales all over Reddit and institutional filings of both buying and selling.

In conclusion, you basically have to be a completely gullible fool to believe the line “shorts haven’t closed a single share”.
