So I've been reading up on blockchain technology and how it can be applied to much more than just cryptos due it's fundamental nature of being a decentralized, distributed, public ledger.

However, I'm having trouble seeing how a business based on blockchain technology, in particular Dapps, would make any money. I mean, the whole point is to *not* centralize the data that's being stored in a blockchain, but then how would you funnel traffic if there's not a centralized cluster of servers for all the traffic to go through? And if you can't funnel traffic through to your service, how do you make any money? Take Uber, for example. They make money because every transaction goes through their centralized app, and they take a small cut of that transaction. Same goes with facebook: They make money because all the data pass through their centralized servers, and they then make money by advertising to users as they pass through that funnel.

So how would a Dapp ever make any money if the users and their traffic/data/activity don't pass through the Dapp's dedicated, centralized servers?

>tl;dr: what business models would one have to implement to make money with Dapps / blockchain technology?
