So you have roughly $3000 in discretionary income to spend on investments? I don't like investments outside of PM's and or other things I can hold, but I'm not sure I would recommend silver. Sadly silver is affordable for you, but it's also rather volatile, you don't have much to gamble with, and a major swing one way or the other could be disastrous for you if you would need to sell. That being said it's a judgment call on your part, I don't know the fine details of your financial situation, so maybe my assessment is wrong. I'd recommend gold for more stability, but then you'd need to have more to spend for that to make any sense anyways. Kind of in a tough position. Maybe work on improving your income.
