I find the whole collection and secondary market speculation stupid as fuck.
Recently I cleaned out my parents old house and when I came across a box of my old magic cards my autism decided to make me obsess over getting back into the game in chronological order.
I decided to order full sets of proxies instead from the internet, I would have preferred to buy original boosters but they don't print them anymore because of the collection aspect.
Even if I had the liquidity to buy the original cards from the 90s they are so expensive that even if there were a format where they are still allowed to be played people would not do it out of fear of damaging them. Also the creators would get nothing from those sales either since all the money would go to the {{{secondary market}}}.

In a perfect world (one run by me) they would just print an unlimited amount of each set and change the borders from black to white to differentiate the limited from the unlimited one.
